ANNE RIVER
The Anne River is located close to the magnificent Lake Pedder. The walk
to the river begins at Red Tape Creek and continues further on to
Lake Judd crossing button grass plains with some very boggy sections.
Across the swiftly flowing Anne River is a cable bridge. Crossing the bridge
a large Huon Pine tree can be seen growing at the waters edge. From the
button grass plains, the walker is offered splendid views of Lake Pedder.
From this point the views of the three snow-capped mountains (Mt Sarah Jane,
Mt Eliza and Mt Anne are superb. Mt Anne is the highest mountain in
southern Tasmania at 1,425m and a very hard climb
